The Unfortunate Decisions of Dahlia Moss by Max Wirestone
For anyone who has ever geeked out about something and for fans of The Guild, New Girl, Scott Pilgrim, Big Bang Theory, Veronica Mars.
Meet Dahlia Moss, the reigning queen of unfortunate decision-making in the St. Louis area. She is unemployed, broke, and on her last bowl of ramen. But that's all about to change.
Before Dahlia can make her life any messier on her own she's offered a job. A job that she's woefully under-qualified for. A job that will lead her to a murder, an MMORPG, and possibly a fella (or two?).

It was hard for me to get into this. Yes, I like Dahlia. She was quirky, fun. The game was full of nerd talk, awesome. But, if you're not a gamer, you won't get it. There are several parts where it's humorous. I give the author that.
So here's my issues:
1. I couldn't tell if this was supposed to be America or the UK. I have to say, there's a lot going on in the beginning where I felt it was in the UK until it stated it was America. They call it American dollars. Wouldn't it just be dollars?
2. I got so annoyed that everytime there was a note, or something written, the author has to tell us the font of the writing. I found no point in doing so.
3. I felt this was a bunch of people with money to blow and nothing better to do. You have parents paying to find a tool in a game for their son? *trying to not spoil the story...* But it just, I didn't get it. I don't get it. The author proved to me, they can do comedy, fun, humorous. But this was just not a book I could get into. I couldn't enjoy it.
