Face Off: The Assassins series, book 1 (a Pulp Noir series - Crime and Suspense Thrillers) by P.J. Mercedsen

Every man has his limitations. Even assassins.
The problem is their limitations are each other.

Readers who enjoy suspenseful crime fiction with some dark humor and irony are sure to enjoy The Assassins, a series that show the “bad” guys can be fun and thrilling to read about.

Book 1: Face Off

When life is worthless, death has a price.

Two loners who make their living bringing death.
One, a kid new to the game, sees himself as a gift to the world of assassins.
The other, a veteran of the craft, is a feared and respected hitman for one of the biggest crime families in the city.
Neither of them is a good guy, but are they really that bad?
Both are killers, but in a criminal world without morals, they're far from the worst.

When each are given an assignment, they have no idea that their paths are about cross, and everything is going to change.

Don't miss the first in a five-part serial full of thrills, conflict and intrigue! As the series continues, our protagonists will find themselves forced together on a roller-coaster ride of mystery and murder, with edge-of-the-seat action that will leave you wondering what will happen next.

Warning: this material contains strong language, violence and thematic elements that may be disturbing to some readers. Recommended for mature audiences only.

Please note that this is a novella, and the introductory book of the series. Next books of this series are twice as long.

This review is from: Face Off: The Assassins series, book 1 (a Pulp Noir series - Crime and Suspense Thrillers) (Kindle Edition)
This was an interesting story. It's plays out like an action movie with death, explosions, hidden lives and event call girls. The men are merciless and well written. This story had me turning the pages and I was disappointed when it ended. You're going to want to read the next one! It's certainly a thrill ride and plenty of insight into the characters to build the series.
