The Marriage Merger

The Marriage Merger by Jennifer Probst

$6.83 Amazon

Her sisters have found wedded bliss with their wealthy, wonderful dream men, but not Julietta Conte. She’s stayed on terra firma as top executive of the family’s corporation, La Dolce Famiglia bakery. Work is her passion, and her trendy Milan apartment her sanctuary . . . until Sawyer Wells, a masculine masterpiece in a suit, lures her out of hiding with an irresistible offer: an exclusive partnership with his international chain of boutique hotels.

Julietta’s been burned before—and trusting her brotherin- law’s friend, whose powerful gaze alone has her rethinking the best use of a conference room, is the riskiest proposition. But with a once-in-a-career chance to take the bakery global, will she mix stone-cold business with red-hot seduction?

The Marriage Merger (Marriage to a Billionaire, #4)The Marriage Merger by Jennifer Probst
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love love love books that have a tortured past, and the person is broken. I enjoy seeing that person then change, mold into a better person! This book has that! Sawyer had a rough childhood and holds guilt over things he felt he caused. Julietta is a workaholic who just can't seem to "get off" (which sort of had me rolling my eyes, I mean really?). Yea, if you can't even get yourself off, there's something wrong with you, but that's besides the point.

Though well written, I felt there was a little too much inner dialogue with each character instead of conversations with each other, or interaction. Sometimes over thinking things is too much, and makes for dragging down a good book.

Along the way of reinventing himself and becoming a self made billionaire, Sawyer picks up a kid that reminds him of himself. Wolfe has pain also, is withdrawn and moody, but Sawyer keeps him around. He's smart and they seem to need each other. The fact that Julietta thinks she is the one woman to pull both these men from their deep dark issues, it was endearing. I rather enjoyed watching the journey between the three characters with a little Mama thrown in! Mama Conte is one of my favorite characters. Mama really does know best here. If you're looking for a sweet little romance to read quickly, this was worth reading.
