By Any Means by Chris Culver
Ash Rashid thought his days as a homicide detective were over. Now with the police force's community relations department, he gives speeches at elementary schools instead of tracking criminals. But when he discovers two dead bodies during his evening commute, Ash finds himself back on active duty. As he races to identify the victims and track down an abducted witness, Ash realizes that nothing is what it seems. Every clue, every suspect, leads to new questions-and new threats. His quest for the truth soon leads him into the heart of a mastermind's bloody vendetta. Ash has sacrificed too much to back down-and he may now have to pay with his life . . .
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I found this book more exciting than The Abbey. The intricate web of details fell into place smoothly, without it seeming forced. If felt natural. The suspense was great. I'm certainly a fan of this authors writing now and can't wait to pick up the next Ash novel! If you're into Detective, Crime, Mystery type books, you need to read this.
