Slow Burn (Smoke Jumpers) by Anne Marsh
It's not every man who will risk his life, leaping into the flames of a wildland inferno. And it's not every woman who will love him. . .
He's Feeling The Heat
Evan Donovan is a big muscled giant of a man, whose size and strength make him uniquely qualified to be a smoke jumper. No matter how great or how treacherous the challenge, he gets the job done. But when he agrees to look in on a friend's ex-wife after a suspicious brushfire, Evan learns that some jobs are too hot to handle. Especially when it involves a scorchingly sexy woman. . .
She's Playing With Fire
Faye Duncan is a photographer on a mission, shooting fires for a magazine. But her first encounter with a wildfire isn't nearly as wild as her first night with Evan Donovan. The moment she meets the bigger-than-life hero, the sparks begin to fly. But things really catch fire when Evan learns she may have taken a photo of the arsonist setting the fires. Evan is determined to keep Faye safe. But if he expects her to trust him with her life, he'll have to open up his heart--even if someone gets burned. . .
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Holy Smokes! And, I mean that pun intentionally. This is one hot, action packed, sex crazed book. I could not stop reading! The author makes every minute detail seem important and her words just grab you by the collar and won't let go. Faye, recently divorced, heads off to Strong for a free lance photo job. Evan, a smoke jumper (firemen who jump out of planes) is asked by his old military buddy (Faye's ex husband) to keep an eye on her. What Evan doesn't know, is the biggest fire that summer will be the one between him and Faye. Oh man does this book pack a punch. The delivery was just too good to be true. Everyone loves a sexy fireman, but this book takes them to a whole new level of hotness! *Hooked*

He Battles The Flames. . .
Nobody messes with Sam Clayton--or his territory. The big bruising ranger is the last line of defense in forest infernos and he'll go up against anyone who gets in the way of putting them out. Even the FBI tracking a terrorist through the heart of a blaze. But when Sam discovers the agent is ex-lover Olivia Albert, saving himself will be more dangerous than any fire he's faced before. . .
She Lives For The Heat. . .
Olivia needs Sam's help to survive the heat, but when it comes to keeping her quarry from detonating a major strike, this Bureau agent is calling the shots. Except when Sam's hard body and expert hands are reigniting a second chance that could be hot enough to burn forever. . .
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Being a short story leaves you begging for more of these characters. Sam and Olivia are hot. Too bad you don't get to know them better. Seeing each other 10 years after their summer together, they are both stubborn but wanting the other. The one disappointment was not much in depth fire talk. The Smoke Jumper books had more details on fighting the fires. Granted the whole story takes place in the middle of a wild fire, but I would have loved to see more. I really liked that the Donovan brothers make a slight appearance. This was a good short story and if you have never read anything by this author, you should. She puts the sexy in firefighters.
